ROAM Magazine
ROAM was a self-initiated venture by the team at Bert, a UK-based branding agency in which I served as a digital designer and was responsible for opening their first office in Madrid.
Together with managing director Chris Garratt, I crafted a concept about how to successfully establish Bert as a part of Madrid’s creative hub, and also deliver a series of content featuring the cultural richness of my native city.
What started as a small internal project, grew to a series of interviews and events that shaped ROAM’s essence: a digital magazine where a global audience could watch, listen to and experience stories told by creatives who are honouring Madrid’s rich cultural past and shaping its future. The magazine featured over 30 multi-disciplinary artisans, including handcrafted leather goods Oficio Studio, beekeeper and axe designer Trasmonte and master wood-turner Siete Formas.
It also offered readers the chance to experience and visit the places and spaces that inspire them, from galleries, parks and cafes to beautiful hidden hangouts that aren’t featured in city guides. Rare products directly from featured artisans were also available to buy through the online store.
ROAM was born out of a love for the city and to help satisfy the insatiable appetite for travel, culture, arts, and creativity.
